Buran ghati trek starts from Village Janglik which is an untouched village. This trail climbs out of Janglik and goes into deep forest and Dayara meadows. Most of the trekkers stop their trekking at Dayara Meadows. On the other side of the pass three is a Barua village which will distinctly remind you of Hobbiton from Lord of rings, with fruit-bearing trees and old houses.

By Air- Jubbarhatti airport is the nearest airport which is 22 km away from Shimla. Another nearby airport is Chandigarh airport.

By Train- By Trail Kalka is the nearest railway station which connects the different cities also. If you are coming from Delhi or any part of India such as calcutta. You can take the train from Kalka station or can hire taxis to explore the beauty of Kalka.

By Road- If you choose the reach by road, Shimla is well connected to cities such as Chandigarh and Delhi. Regular bus services from nearby cities Like Kullu, Manali, Delhi,Ambala are well connected.

BEST TIME TO DO BURAN GHATI TREK

Buran ghati trek is one of the most beautiful and gradual uphill treks in the Himalayas. If you have great passion for mountaineering and love to trek, Buran ghati trek is for you.

The best time to do the Buran ghati trek is months between May to October.

In May and June you get a combination of both snow and greenery which makes the trek very spectacular. During the month of May and June is quite good which makes trekking a lot of fun.

DIFFICULTY LEVEL

Buran ghati trek is difficult moderate trek. Buran ghati base camp trek is very easy but a bit difficult. From base camp to uphill and then downhill trek is moderate in trek.

DETAILED ITINERARY

DAY-1 REACH AT SHIMLA AND JANGLIK

On the very first day you have to reach Shimla at an altitude of 2800m. To reach there you need to drive at least 160 km which takes 9-10 hours. Janglik is the base camp for Buran ghati trek.

You need to drive from Shimla to Rohru which passes from charming villages and pine and oak forest.

DAY -2 JANGLIK TO DAYARA THATCH

After having breakfast you walk through the beautiful and hand-crafted wheat field and farmhouse. After climbing for an hour you will be able to see the view of Diode and Tonglu as well as other villages. Your body must be acclimatised as you climb at high altitude. Your stay will be in camp after an acclimatised walk.

DAY-3 DAYARA THATCH TO LYTHAM

After having breakfast in your camp. This trail will begin with exploring Dayara meadows. You can go on a morning walk to soak up the freshness of the morning. On this trail you will find forest, meadows and flowing streams from Dayara to Litham. Before reaching  Dayara campsite you will be able to see Dhauladhars snow-capped mountains.

DAY-4  LITHAM TO DHAUNA

We suggest that you take a day’s rest to get acclimated to your body and climb uphill towards Dhauna which is located at 13300 ft.  This trail is a combination of snowy mountains and white mountains. Here you can take amazing pictures of the surroundings from all sides.

DAY-5 DHAUNA TO BURAN GHATI PASS

On this day you have to trek at least 10-12 hours and it will include ascent and descent both the treks. You should follow the ridge from Dhunda campsite and climb over boulders to reach the base of this pass. You will reach Buran ghati at an altitude of 15000 feet after a thrilling climb.
