Should You Buy OnePlus 7T for Camera Purpose in 2021?
The OnePlus 7T is the latest phone from an innovative brand known for bringing incredible specs and refined usability to the most unique Android phone on the market. After blowing us off with the OnePlus 7 Pro, we’ve come to see the continuing evolution of the brand lineup.
With the launch of the 7T, the OnePlus brings more flagship technology to the latest devices neatly laid out in the 7 lineups. We joined hands a few weeks ago to help speed things up in our favorite mountain environment.
OnePlus 7T Overview
One of the notable changes in the 7T is the lineup of three cameras horizontally across the back of the device surrounded by a striking circle. This is a bit less smooth than the 7 Pro. This allows the most seamless integration of the camera lens on any smartphone, but you can’t deny the camera’s functionality. The 7T loses the 7 Pro’s new pop-up selfie camera and instead sticks to the OnePlus 7’s well-integrated legacy device that we’ve never seen Stateside with.
On the back of the phone body is a matte glass housing like the OnePlus 7 Pro, which is one of the most unique and luxurious feel design elements in the current smartphone market. The 7T offers Glacier Blue and Frosted Silver color options, which are great for phones and are unique in phones of the same shape. We liked the way the light hits the back of the 7 Pro, and the 7T continued the trend.
Specifications
The OnePlus 7T now looks like Goldilocks in the OnePlus lineup and is between the 7 and 7 Pro in terms of features and price. The screen is slightly larger than the 7 and has a higher resolution, which is close to its flagship state, including the smooth 90Hz refresh rate first seen on the 7 Pro. This phone comes with a 6.55 inch Fluid AMOLED display with 2400 x 1080 resolution. WARP Charge 30T Fast Charge (up to 20% faster than 7 Pro).
It also offers Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus with 8GB RAM, 128GB, and 256GB storage options. As can be seen from the screen and internal specs, the OnePlus 7T is a fast device with smooth scrolling and long battery life. Scrolling through Instagram feeds on my phone is noticeably brighter and sharper than my laptop or iPhone 11.
OnePlus 7T Photo Camera
At Moment we are obsessed with smartphone cameras. And they keep getting better! The OnePlus 7T comes with three rear cameras and a high-resolution selfie camera, providing industry-leading specs for any device’s camera. I really enjoy the way the OnePlus lists the equivalent field of view for each lens. It seems to be a good nod to the big camera and lens markings.
The 7T has a ridiculous 48 megapixel, f/1.6 main camera like the 7 Pro and OnePlus 7 I personally can’t get enough of. The full camera lineup is as follows. The camera specs are great, but the most important thing for any camera is how it works in the real world. From color rendering to smooth user experience to switching between different lenses, there’s a lot that spec sheets can’t cover.
Video camera
The video specs are equally impressive, taking full advantage of the huge camera sensor and high-quality optics. Even more remarkable is the video stabilization, which produced ridiculously similar footage to a handheld gimbal. The color of the video is as good as a still camera, but oddly enough, it’s not always so.
Using the 7T’s newest microphone, the sound is natural and clear, and the phone shoots all the video file formats and frame rates you’re familiar with for slow motion, movies, 4K, and Vlogs. If you are a Vlogger this phone is for you, OnePlus 7T is one of the best budget Smartphones for Vlogging, shoot your Vlogs with this phone and lets your viewers enjoy your vlogs.
Our experience
The 7T’s camera is very good. The main camera offers a resolution of 48 megapixels, twice the resolution offered by a large personal mirrorless camera. Like the 7 Pro, the resolution is not only large but also high definition. The colors are vivid, the contrast is sharp, and the preservation of detail is amazing. Shooting a 48MP RAW file creates a malleable file that withstands a professional editing workflow on a laptop, while telephoto and ultra-wide cameras offer higher resolutions than most smartphones’ native cameras (I won’t name them here), making them overall offers remarkable image quality.
Zoom range. We are waiting for the day when all three lenses of our smartphones can use the same aperture to increase their optical consistency depending on the lighting conditions. However, just like the 7 Pro, the UI of the default camera app is intuitive and smooth. Easy access to zoom in (2x) and zoom out (.6x) buttons, while capturing, you can easily change various functions such as file format and Pro mode.
Acting in front of you. For smartphone photographers obsessed with resolution and options, OnePlus put together a very attractive package. The built-in lens and imaging chip make this phone one of the most capable smartphone cameras we’ve ever seen.
And the software under the hood keeps colors, horizontal lines, and overall UX incredibly smoothes across a variety of built-in lenses. I wonder if the tic-tac-toe, three-column camera on the back is aligned in a way that provides the smoothest lens switching experience.
Conclusion
The OnePlus 7T is one of the best devices, OnePlus has made over the years. It offers both the best specs on the market and the coolest camera system the latest Android has to offer for $499.99.
Personally, I think the 7T puts the OnePlus 7 Pro in a much weirder position than before. The 7T is cheaper with better specs including screen resolution, battery capacity, and one of the main Cameras. Sure, the 7 Pro offers a pop-up selfie camera, but the notch on this device doesn’t bother me.
If you’re buying a new smartphone, the OnePlus 7T is no wonder. If you need a headphone jack, amazing battery life, or a high-resolution display, you should shop elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for a phone that performs all its functions well and is very fun to use, it’s hard not to recommend the OnePlus 7T right away especially for those who are looking for the best camera purpose.
